IsraeliFilmfestival on PBS is an ongoing series of films by Israeli filmmakers to be broadcasted on US public television. The series is the first of its kind and will give American viewers a unique look at the multi-faceted Israeli culture and way of life. The series will provide a platform to expose Israeli filmmaker's work to new audiences across America.
Part 1: The Films of Duki Dror
The first series will feature the films of one of the most esteemed filmmakers in Israel today, Duki Dror. His films have received international acclaim and are featured in numerous film festivals worldwide. Dror's films focus on diverse people from Israel who learn many lessons as they deal with the various challenges life has to offer them. Their stories are truly universal and their challenges are spread over many countries in addition to Israel including: Vietnam, the United States, Iraq and Palestine. For the first time, Duki Dror's films are being made available to a broad American audience via public television, the series has already been approved for national distribution by one of the major distributors of programs to PBS stations.
This film festival consists of three films offered both in HDTV and SD standard definition and a companion website. Public television stations will be granted unlimited broadcast rights to the films for three years.
